BUSINESS EDUCATION
ECSU offers a BS in Business Education Degree. All students who plan to major in any teacher education program must enroll in specified general education courses beginning with a special section of Learning Strategies in their first semester as a freshman.
Then students must finish their general education courses and successfully complete the Praxtis Exam in their second semester as a sophomore BEFORE acceptance into the Business Education Program. Please refer to the catalog and consult an advisor in the School of Education.
Students majoring in Business Education are required to also complete an academic concentration (or second major) in Psychology or Social Science. Therefore Business Education majors must earn 128 semester hours to graduate rather than the normal 124 hours. Also most education majors usually take only the Student Teaching Course (six semester hours) during their last semester. Therefore students must take heavy loads during most semesters and/or attend summer school in order to graduate on time.
