Economics and Finance Concentration
The Economics and Finance Concentration provides an excellent foundation for further study at the graduate level. The program also prepares students for management positions in businesses, governments, or non-profit organizations.
Economics is the study of human behavior in regards to the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Macroeconomics deals with the economy as a whole while microeconomics deals with a specific enterprise. Also the study of international economics has gained in importance because businesses must increasingly consider the effects of the global economy.
Many graduates of the Economics and Finance Concentration find positions in the financial sector of the economy. Others go on to earn graduate degrees to serve as economic analysts for governments, financial institutions, or private enterprises. Some find faculty positions in universities after earning a PhD.
