WHY CHOOSE BUSINESS EDUCATION?
Business Education majors train to teach in High Schools. The subjects for which Business Education graduates are qualified to teach range from computers to bookkeeping.
Employment opportunities abound because United States is facing a severe shortage of qualified teachers and secondary school teachers are in especially short supply. The pay for public school teachers is steadily climbing in response to the shortage with starting salaries in North Carolina in excess of $25,000 per year with excellent benefits. Of course the summer vacation is an unique benefit of teaching in public schools.
However most high school business teachers cite job satisfaction as more important than remuneration or fringe benefits. The pride that comes from watching students grow into productive adults outweighs the purely financial rewards.
