NOAA Summer Research Cruise
RV Albatross

During the Summer of 2002, ECSU, represented by Dr. F.C. San Juan, and two students from the Undergraduate Research Experinece in Ocean and Marine Science, funded by the Office of Naval Research, went on a one week cruise aboard the NOAA ship RV Albatross.  During the week, water quality measurement using the STD suite, and plankton tow nets were deployed along a series of traverse lines perpendicular to the shoreline.  These traverse lines were located off Cape Hatteras, and the Virginia and Delaware coastlines.  The goal is to study the distribution of blue fish juveniles, and associated physical and biological parameters, including the abundance/absence of their planktonic food resources.
