
THE PARTNERS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Partners in Education program was initiated by Dr. Maurice C. Powers and is operated by the Environmental Research lab at Elizabeth City State University. This program seeks out local schools in which the educational partnership can be built between the ERL (Environmental Research Lab), students, and the teachers.Because of the enthusiasm of their students and teachers in the field of science, we have decided to adopt J.C. Sawyer Elementary in Elizabeth City, NC. Here are some of our goals and an overview of what we’d like to accomplish.
Goals for the Program
1) To offer computer based resources to educators, students and parents.
2) To provide innovative solutions that can really help with teaching and learning.
3) To show educators how Information Communication Technology can be used to support them.
4) To increase the pupil’s motivation in the field of science.
5) To raise the student’s achievement level.
6) To improve communication between parents, educators, students.
7) To provide mentoring to students when teachers need it the most.
Overview
1) To show how information and communication technologies play such a major role in education.
2) We should be able to provide a case study of our results and compare them on a worldwide scale.
Partners in Education will help to develop innovative solutions to meet the challenges of teaching, learning and administration at the adopted school in the field of science.
