Our fieldtrip to the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina was very exciting and interesting.  I was surprised to find out exactly what goes on at the site.  The SRS personnel control the stabilization of contaminated soils, treat groundwater, establish new and innovative technologies, and also protect the environment in the safest way.

During our visit the SRS staff was shown and given the utmost respect.  What was good about the tour is that we did not stay in the classroom, but actually saw the different facilities and equipment that are used to help restore the environment.

Overall the whole trip and tour went as planned and I definitely enjoyed myself.  While on the way to Aiken we stopped at one of the states biggest tourist attractions, South of the Border.  At the attraction we ate lunch, visited a variety of shops, and took tons of pictures.  In our spare time Thursday and Friday we visited the malls and a lot of different restaurants.  Doing all of these activities made this more than a field trip, but a trip to always remember.
