When asked to attend this trip I was unsure because I am not a science major.  Learning each day about economic and marketing equations, I though that the chemistry equations that my peers were used to hearing would have me a bit baffled. Needless to say I entered the Savannah River Site that morning with  several preconceived notions.

I tried to stay focused and just think about what I had to accomplish for the day.  While at the SRS I learned about an interesting summer intern program that South Carolina State University offers, ways that the SRS handles environmental development and research, and I got a chance to meet scientist and see their hands on work in the field.

It was all a very educational experience that exposed me to concerns in our environment that I was not aware of before this trip.  Being able to travel with Omari Salisbury, Sid Etheridge, and Brian Thompson, three men of great respect and professionalism was also great.  Overall this was a very positive experience for me that I won't soon forget.
