| The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Elizabeth City State University invites you and your students to participate in the Regional State Mathematics Contest -2008 on our campus on April 8, 2008. As before the four subject areas will be Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Comprehensive Math. The first, second, and third place awards will be given in each subject area for both individual and team categories. Because of limited space and personnel, we regret that we will ask you to please limit the number of students for any one test to fifteen (15). |

Local Rules for Regional Contest at ECSU
- Participating Schools: Only North Eastern North Carolina schools can participate in the contest at ECSU.
- Subject Area Contest: Each contestant must be currently enrolled in the subject. Please check NCCTM State Math Contest Rules of Eligibility at http://courses.ncssm.edu/goebel/statecon/state.htm.
- Subject Area Contest: Each team will consist of four students. Trophies will be awarded to individual and team winners. Certificates for participation will be awarded to all participants.
- All Competitors: Calculators(including graphing calculators except the TI-89 and 92) are permitted during the test. They will not be provided by ECSU.
- All Competitors: Top 10% of the participants in Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry will be qualified to compete at state level. Only top 7% of the Participants in Comprehensive will compete at state level.
