Director
Patricia J. Gibbs is the director of Sponsored Programs, which coordinates sponsored research activities among the administration, faculty, staff and students at Elizabeth City State University as well as with local, state, and national communities. Working with government and private sector officials to acquire funds and equipment for the university is another affair handled by the Office of SPCG.

Cynthia Lister, Pre Awards Coordinator, assists faculty and staff in finding external funding sources and proposal preparation.  She works with representatives in Education, Psychology, Technology, and Admissions in proposal development and implementation.  Maintains the SPCG Manual and Research Capability Statement.  Assists the Director of Sponsored Programs in identifying funding opportunities, proposal writing, conference representation and presentations. 

James E. Swimpson coordinates the Title III Program implementation at ECSU.  This includes: collecting and analyzing data (Phase I of the Title III Program); developing the university's Title III Plan for 1999-2000 (Phase II of the Title III Program); and reporting to the United States Department of Education.  Works with Title III project directors on campus.  Works with representatives in Social Sciences and Business and Economics in proposal development and implementation. Assists the Director of Sponsored Programs in identifying funding opportunities, proposal writing, conference representation and presentations. 

Eundene Brown locates and disseminates research opportunities to faculty and staff.  Writes and assists faculty, staff and students in writing proposals.  Works with representatives in Language, Literature, Communications and Physical Education,  in proposal development and implementation.  Coordinates student internship program through Sponsored Programs.  Maintains the Sponsored Programs Web-Page. Assists the Director of Sponsored Programs in identifying funding opportunities, proposal writing, conference representation and presentations.  Coordinates certain Pre- and Post- Award activities. 

Vandalyn Ray, Contract Specialist and Faculty Liason, assists coordinator in processing requisitions, contracts and RFTH forms and travel authorizations for all federal grants.  Assists in the development of the Title III proposal in all phases.  Conducts research on Sponsored Programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and sponsor regulations.
