Admission Requirements

Social Work Program

Full admission to the Social Work Program requires:

  1. Completion of Pre-Professional Social Work Courses ("C" grade or better) in the following course:

    SOWK 205 Introduction to Social Work (3)
    SOWK 210 Fundamentals of Interviewing (3)
    SOWK 220 Human Diversity (3)
    SOWK 250 Introduction to Social Welfare
    SOWK 260 Human Behavior and the Social Environment I (3)

  2. Completion of Specific Liberal Arts Courses ("C" grade or better) in the following courses:

    PSY 212 General Psychology (3)
    GE 155 Principles of Biological Science (3)

  3. A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50
  4. 1 Letter of Recommendation (Faculty Member, Clergy, Counselor, or other Professional in a Human Services Field)
  5. Score between 90 - 110 Points for Full Acceptance into the Social Work Program
  6. Agree to abide by the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics (NASW)
