Department of Accounting
The Department of Accounting offers students the opportunity to pursue degrees in Accounting. The use of technology as a teaching and learning tool is highly emphasized and is incorporated in most courses. Critical thinking and ethical values are also emphasized as part of the transformational process presented by this department. Students are encouraged to participate in Student Organizations to help build teamwork and leadership skills. They are also encouraged to engage in an internship to gain work experience and an understanding of how the business world operates.
The primary objectives of the department are:
- To prepare students for entry-level accounting career opportunities.
- To provide basic preparation for related professional certifications.
- To prepare students for graduate study.
- To produce graduates with the knowledge, skills, behaviors, and confidence to succeed in the career of their choice and in life, and
- To produce graduates who are effective communicators and problem solvers who will contribute to the common good in a global society.
