Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are there any internships?
A: See the internship coordinator or your department chair for assistance.

Q: I need to change my classes. What do I do?
A: See your Advisor. Your advisor will help you make sure that you are taking the classes that you need in an appropriate sequence so that your graduation will not be delayed unduly.

Q: Who is my advisor?
A: Go to the SBE Blackboard site and click on the Advising Info button, and then click on Who is my advisor. Your advisor's name will be displayed along with current office hours. If your advisor is not listed or you do not see this entry on Blackboard, please see Ms. Jordan in 224 Williams Hall.

Q: I need to change my major. What do I do?
A: See your Advisor. Your advisor must sign some paperwork to allow you change majors, so advising should be your first stop.

Q: Am I ready to graduate?
A: See your Upperclass Advisor. Graduation materials are due to the Registrar's Office during the term before graduation takes place. Make sure you have had your 90-hour review with your advisor to ensure that you are on the right path toward graduation. Then visit your advisor again before you schedule for what you believe to be your last term at ECSU.

Q: My email doesn't work. Who do I contact?
A: Either email helpdesk@ecsu.edu or call IT Client Services at 335-3373. Make sure your mailbox is cleaned out regularly as you may not receive incoming emails if the box is full.

Q: Are there any computer labs?
A: The Information Technology Center is the home for several public computer labs. It is maintained by the Office of Information Technology Client Services (IT Client Services). The computer lab provides free student access to more than 116 computers featuring Windows XP Professional operating systems. Software includes Microsoft Office with Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. . The center also has 16 Macintosh computer lab. Hours are posted here: http://www.ecsu.edu/it/hours.cfm.

Lab staff are available to provide assistance as needed across the entire spectrum of computer operating systems and application software.

Williams Hall is home to three computer labs: Room 115, Room 124 and Room 103. While Rooms 124 and 103 are often used for classes, the lab in Room 115 is generally available until 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The G.R. Little Library also has several labs for student usage. These labs are open during library hours, which are posted here: http://www.ecsu.edu/library/hours.cfm.

Some courses may require additional software. Consult your course syllabi to determine if you are enrolled in one of those courses.
