The primary purpose of the Center for Entrepreneurship is to enhance the educational experience of students at Elizabeth City State University. The Center’s activities are housed in the Walter R. Davis School of Business and Economics, but its programs are intended to serve all students, regardless of major. The Center carries out its mission primarily via the Entrepreneurial Internship Program and the Visiting Entrepreneur Lecture Series.
The School of Business & Economics has a thriving internship program and each student is encouraged to complete at least one internship experience before graduating. The school’s internship coordinator works closely with students to assist them in obtaining a placement that will meet their professional goals. Our students have been placed locally with organizations such as ECSU Business and Finance, ECSU Internal Auditor, ECSU Human Resources, Gateway Bank, Page Development Company, Albemarle Hospital; and nationally with organizations such as Disney World and Verizion.
The School sponsors an honors society and four professional organizations to help students round our their professional preparation.
