Captain Benjamin M. Winchester

CPT Winchester commissioned as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of South Carolina ROTC program in 2008 as an infantry officer. Following completion of Infantry Basic Officer Basic Course, CPT Winchester was assigned to 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany where he deployed to Zabul Province, RC-South Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

While assigned to 2CR, CPT Winchester served as a Stryker Rifle Platoon Leader and Stryker Company Executive Officer. Following completion of Maneuver Captain's Career Course, CPT Winchester was assigned to 4th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division where he served as a Brigade Assistant Planner, Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, and as commander of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment.

CPT Winchesters awards include the Afghan Campaign Medal with Service Star, the Army Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Air Assault Badge, the Basic Parachutist Badge, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge.

CPT Winchester has been married for seven years, is blessed with three young children, and enjoys hiking, photography, and hunting.
