Curriculum Materials Center

Conceptual Framework

The mission of the Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) is to support the teaching, research, educational, and professional needs of faculty, staff, and students of the School of Education and Psychology (SOEP) at Elizabeth City State University.

The CMC is a resource library for students in the Teacher Education Program; as well as students majoring in other areas within the SOEP. The resources available in the Center are complimentary and foster the objectives of the Teacher Education Program. The Curriculum Materials Center provides representative P-12 materials for preview, review, analysis and circulation (Griffin Hall room 184). A Math and Science Resource Room (MSRR) is also available. It contains a wide variety of math manipulative and science hands-on activities designed to meet the science and math instructional needs of teachers (room 106) for in-house use or on a loan basis.

The resources of the Center are used to assist Teacher Education majors and faculty in preparing lesson plans, lesson units, lesson demonstrations, class syllabi, audiovisual projects, and other classroom activities. The Curriculum Materials Center plays a unique and integral role in the educational process of current and future educators. All Elizabeth City State University students, staff, and faculty are invited to use the Curriculum Materials Center; to include those of the surrounding communities.
