Reach For the Stars at Elizabeth City State University

Star Party
State-wide Star Party

April 5, 2013

Come join the staff of Elizabeth City State University's Planetarium for an evening of stargazing as part of the NC Science Festival kickoff: the inaugural state-wide star party!

We'll scan the skies for constellations, bright stars, and planets high above our northeast North Carolina skies. You will discover the basics of stargazing and become acquainted with naked-eye and binocular observing, and even get a peek through a telescope. Please feel free to bring your own star gazing equipment if you have it! Meet us in the parking lot between the Jenkins Science Center and the Pharmacy Complex. We have some binoculars and a telescope, but we also encourage you to bring their own equipment if you have it.

If the skies aren't clear, not to fear, we will have indoor planetarium showings of "More Than Meet The Eye" and "Live Tour of the Carolina Skies".

The Statewide Star Party has been made possible thanks to GLOBE at Night and the generous support of the North Carolina Space Grant.

All shows are free, but pre-registration is required.  Register TODAY at http://ecsuplanetarium.eventbrite.com or by calling (252)335-3SKY.
