Welcome
to The School of Mathematics, Science and Technology at Elizabeth City
State University. The School of MST is one of four schools here at ECSU,
and is home to five academic departments, including Biology, Geosciences,
Mathematics and Computer Science, Physical Sciences, and Technology,
as well as the CSSV Center. In a warm supportive environment with small
classes and easy access to dedicated and experienced faculty, students
can elect one of twelve majors and numerous minors leading to a baccalaureate

Mission
Statement
The School
of Mathematics, Science, and Technology is a scholarly community committed
to providing commprehensive, high quality education that prepares students
for rewarding professional careers or graduate study in mathematics,
science, and technology related areas, and for adaptive learning as
productive citizens. The School provides a supportive learning environment
for its multi-cultural student population and offers high quality instruction
that employs new technologies and integrates ideas across intellectual
boundaries. Integral to the School's instructional mission is the generation
of new knowledge through research and creative activity, and an active
committment to ongoing professional development. The School is committed
to mutually beneficial partnerships with local and global organizations;
and seeks to serve University, local and professional communites with
leadership and distinction.

Goals
The School
of Mathematics, Science and Technology has five goals:
(1) Plan and manage resorces,
(2) Improve and implement marketing, outreach and retention activities,
(3) improve and enhance courses, curriculum and programs,
(4) Support faculty and students in mentoring, researching, and intership
activities, and
(5) Strengthen existing and create new partnerships with business and
industry, as well as with area school and community colleges.
