  • You will be in direct contact with Public Safety officials.
  • Communications equipment lets them know the location of the call box you’re using so they can find you.

Visitor Parking
  • Must first report to the Office of Campus Police where they may be issued a visitor’s pass or a temporary parking permit
  • Faculty, staff, or students may pre-register an expected guest and obtain a visitor’s pass in advance.
  • Visitor’s pass shall be displayed inside the vehicle on the left side of the windshield.
  • University personnel shall be held financially responsible for any parking or traffic citation issued to their visitors.
  • Visitor parking is allowed only in designated parking spaces.
  • Students and staff are not permitted to use visitor parking spaces.

Tickets and Towing
  • University fines for parking and traffic violations on campus will be assessed according to the  schedule in the “Campus Parking and Traffic Regulations” handbook.
  • Tickets must be paid within fifteen (15) business days to avoid additional fines and late fees.

Alcohol
  • Zero (“0”) Tolerance Policy for open consumption of alcohol.
  • The serving, use, and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages on campus by students of legal age, faculty, and staff is regulated by specific policies.



  • It is unlawful for any person under twenty-one years of age to purchase, possess, or consume any alcoholic beverage.
  • Sale of alcohol on campus is prohibited by both University policy and State Law.

Violation of Alcohol Laws or University Alcohol Policies:
  • Students may:
    • Be referred for counseling
    • Have your housing contract terminated
    • Be placed on housing contract probation
    • Receive written reprimand
    • Be required to make restitution
    • Be referred to the student judicial system
    • Receive Uniform Citation
  • Employees may:
    • Be subject to disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal from employment
    • Be referred for counseling
  • As a member of the community, you may:
    • Loose your driver’s license
    • Be convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor
    • Get a criminal record, fines and possibly jail time

Drugs
  • Zero (“0”) tolerance for trafficking, delivery, possession of illegal drugs or controlled substance, or possession of drug paraphernalia.


  • Any member of the University community is subject to both civil authorities and to the University, which will proceed with its own disciplinary actions when this is in the interest of the University.

Violation of Drug Laws or University Drug Policies:
  • Employees may:
    • Be subject to disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal from employment
    • Be referred for counseling
    • Be reported to the federal government in keeping with the Drug Free Workplace Act
    • Face criminal charges and penalties under state and federal laws
  • Students may:
    • Be expelled or suspended, or placed on drug probation
    • Have a disciplinary file that will be retained for at least 10 years
    • Face criminal charges and penalties under state and federal laws

    • Purchase, possession, giving or selling malt beverages, wine, liquor, or mixed beverages to anyone under 21 years old, including aiding and abetting the purchase, possession, giving or sale of malt beverages, wine, liquor, or mixed beverages to anyone under 21 years old (Misdemeanor)
  • Drugs
    • Possession of, sale or delivery of, or possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance. (Felony)
    • Less than 1 ½ ounces marijuana (Misdemeanor)
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia. (Felony)

  • Cars and Bars Don’t Mix
    • Driving a vehicle while under the influence of an impairing substance or with an alcohol concentration of .08 or more. (Misdemeanor)
    • Driving a motor vehicle while there is an open container inside the passenger area of the vehicle, if the driver is consuming alcohol. (Misdemeanor)
    • Driving a motor vehicle while the person is under 21 years of age and consuming alcohol or while the person has remaining in his blood or body any alcohol.  ZERO TOLERANCE! (Misdemeanor)

  • Assaults
    • Rape, which includes situation in which the intercourse is against the other person’s will or in which the other person is asleep, unconscious, or otherwise physically helpless.  (Felony)
    • Sexual offense, which includes sexual acts other than intercourse which are against the other person’s will or in which the other person is incapacitated or physically helpless. (Felony)
    • Knowingly contaminating any food, drink or other edible or potable substance with a controlled substance that would render the person mentally or physically helpless. (Date rape drugs) (Felony)

  • Disorderly Conduct
    • Drunk and disruptive in a place open to the public (both publicly and privately owned places, including buildings, driveways, parking lots, etc.) (Misdemeanor)
    • Disorderly conduct causing a public disturbance by fighting or by abusive language likely to provoke violent retaliation, etc. (Misdemeanor)
    • Injury to real property (lands, buildings, fences, etc.), public or private. (Misdemeanor)
    • Disorderly conduct in a public building or defacing a public building. (Misdemeanor)
    • Injury to person or property. (Misdemeanor)
    • Intentionally causing a public disturbance by disrupting, disturbing, interfering with the teaching of students at or on the grounds of an educational institution. (Misdemeanor)
