What can be recycled?

 Academic and administrative areas

  • Office paper
  • Cardboard
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Plastic bottles (#1 and #2) and aluminum cans

Residence Halls

  • Office paper
  • Cardboard - No pizza boxes!
  • Paper board (cereal boxes, etc… No plastic liners)
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Glass bottles
  • Plastic bottles (#1 and #2) and aluminum cans

Recycling containers will be located on the 1st floor to allow for collection without disturbing the personal space of students.

Collection Container Guidelines

Collection containers with the Paper Only decals are for:

  • Office/Notebook Paper (white paper, color paper, file folders, letterhead, and envelopes - if you are unsure, ask)
  • Newspapers, magazines, catalogs, telephone books, hard bound books and paperback books
  • Corrugated cardboard and paper board (file folder boxes, cereal boxes, etc). NO PIZZA BOXES!

Please flatten boxes and place next to or behind paper recycling containers.

Bottles & Cans

Collection containers with the Bottles and Cans Only decals are for:

  • Plastic bottles (#1 and #2)
  • Aluminum cans

Please remove lids from the plastic bottles and rinse your bottles and cans before placing them in the container.

Glass Only

Collection containers with the Glass Only decals are for all colors glass
Please remove lids and rinse the jars or bottles before placing them in the container.

No Trash

Recycling containers are for the collection of recyclable materials only. Please place trash in trash receptacles -- not recycling collection containers.
Unacceptable items for recycling collection containers:

  • Paper towels
  • Napkins
  • Paper cups
  • Plastic or Styrofoam cups
  • Tissues
  • Food wrappers
  • Aluminum foil
  • Aerosol cans
  • Food waste
  • Plastic containers identified with numbers other than #1 or #2
