Thumb TackChange in Submission of Time Sheets - It has become necessary to change the due dates of time sheets in order to continue our work in HR Banner Payroll; therefore, effective immediately, all time sheets and leave request forms are due in Human Resources by the end of the second business day beginning May 4. Other critical due dates are June 2, July 2, August 4, September 2, etc.

EPA Non Teaching Planning Period or Goals and Objectives July 1
  Mid Year Evaluation January
  Year End Evaluation June 30

2013 Governor's Awards for Excellence

The 2013 Governor's Awards for Excellence program is now open for nominations.

These awards give us the opportunity to recognize those exemplary state employees whose service and contributions make a difference in the lives of North Carolinians. This year's award categories reflect Governor McCrory's commitment to customer service and government efficiency. A new category has been added, Customer Service, and changed the Innovation category to Efficiency & Innovation.

The State Employees' Credit Union has pledged its continued support for the Governor's Awards for Excellence Program. Funding from the SECU Foundation will allow us to publicly recognize our award recipients in a ceremony with their family, friends and coworkers. Employees may be nominated for a Governor's Award for Excellence in one of the following categories:

  • Customer Service
  • Efficiency & Innovation
  • Human Relations
  • Outstanding State Government Service
  • Public Service
  • Safety & Heroism
  • Spirit of North Carolina

There are few opportunities to reward our employees in a meaningful way and while it is important to show our appreciation to all employees, it is critical to recognize those who shine a bright light on public service. Please show your support of the Governor's Awards for Excellence program by nominating a deserving colleague for this honor. The deadline for nominations is July 31, 2013 and can be submitted to the Human Resources office.

Service Awards

The success of State government in providing services to meet the needs of North Carolina and its citizens is dependent on the efforts of State employees. It is, therefore, important for the State to have competent, committed and dedicated employees to provide effective and efficient services to and for the State.

To express its appreciation to valued employees, the State has adopted a policy of recognizing continued dedicated service through a program of service awards. The program provides:

  • Management a tool to recognize ongoing employee dedication and a means to reinforce, acknowledge and retain employee commitment during the first years with the State and at critical milestones.

  • Award choices that reflect employees' tastes, needs and lifestyles.

The Service Awards Program recognizes employees' Total State service in increments of five years through retirement. For each five-year increment, the program offers a collection of items from which eligible recipients may select. Click here for the collection of items available.
