IT CLIENT SERVICES
Bomgar allows IT Services staff to more efficiently resolve issues by connecting to computers via the University network and using their mouse and keyboard to operate those computers remotely. Having the Bomgar button on your desktop allows IT Services staff to assist you with your permission.
Standard Desktop Support
ITCS provides a suite of services in support of computers and software used by faculty and staff. Maintaining a secure computing environment is a priority of Standard Desktop Support.
When you purchase a new DIT approved computer, we have your computer configured as a campus standard computer. We configure Windows PC and Mac computers with a current operating system, applications, accounts, and settings. This provides a standard, consistent, secure computing environment for you to use. When moving from an old computer to a new computer we migrate your files, data, and settings.
Computer Repairs and Consults
The type of service and computer repairs performed will depend on the nature of the issue, whether or not the device is ECSU-owned or personally-owned, and whether or not the device is still under manufacturer's or extended warranty. ECSU DIT does NOT service personally owned computers and devices.
DIT Technicians provide free consultations and advice for ECSU students who have issues on their personal computers.
Faculty and professional staff who require hardware repairs for a personal computer or device should contact the vendor (such as Dell or Lenovo) or visit the Apple Store (for Macs and iOS devices) if the warranty is still in effect.
Compliance with these standards ensures your computers and software will be supported
by the ITCS Support Center.
