Welcome to the Elizabeth City State University Banner web site. Banner is an administrative software application developed specifically for higher education institutions. Banner consists of five integrated systems and two web databases.

What is Banner?
The Banner system is highly integrated because they all share a common database. This common database is shared by everyone who uses Banner, which makes it easy to maintain records on someone who applies to the University, becomes a student, graduates, and then becomes an alumnus. Training is required for most new users of the Banner system. Access to the Banner system will be established only for those users who complete the required training. These classes are primarily geared to Administrators, Support Staff, Deans, Dept. Chairs, and Program Coordinators. Training is not required for most faculty who use Banner Web for Faculty.
What is the Banner Mission
The primary mission of the Banner project is to fulfill Elizabeth City State University's requirements for more robust administrative systems that position ECSU to take advantage of future technologies and meet changing needs.
New Luminis portal
Elizabeth City State University new portal, Luminis, is set to make its debut, Aug. 2010. The SCT Luminis Platform IV will provide the ECSU campus with a solid foundation of infrastructure, enterprise applications and features required to support an institution’s digital campus. The new portal will bring together the university community with a technology that will enhance the users experience and provide a unified way to bring all our applications together with a common interface. This is the first step in developing a real sense of on-line community at ECSU
