New & Transfer Student Orientation

Congratulations on your admission to Elizabeth City State University (ECSU); we hope that you are excited to begin your academic career as a Viking!  Your first act as a Viking is to attend the New & Transfer Student Orientation program (NTSO) and New Viking Days for new freshman and transfer students.

NTSO assists you with your transition to ECSU by introducing you to the university, its services and offices, and it provides an opportunity for new students to interact with staff, faculty, and administrators.  During NTSO you will meet with an academic adviser and register for classes.  All new students are required to attend an orientation program prior to enrolling in the Fall or Spring semester.

New Viking Days begin with Freshman Move-In and a special reception with the Chancellor for the parents/family dropping their student off to college.  The fun continues with a day of educational and fun activities designed to help the student learn how to navigate the campus, be successful academically, and make new friends.  Finally, Freshman and Transfer students will join the returning students for a Viking Kick-Off - a high energy pep-rally to begin the academic school year.
