To be exempt from regular testing, submit your proof of vaccination using the following steps:

Step 1: Go to and login with your University’s credentials.

Step 2: Click the hyperlink “Here” on the Home Screen page.

Step 3: Enter the dates of your vaccine and click Submit.

Step 4: Click the hyperlink “Here” on the pop-up screen to upload a picture of your COVID-19 vaccine card & follow the instructions.

Contact Student Health Services at (252) 335-3267 if you need assistance uploading your vaccination card or medical documents.

ECSU students and employees who have not been fully vaccinated are required to test regularly.  ECSU is partnering with Apex Solutions to provide COVID-19 testing to our campus community.  Apex Solutions will send notifications directly to your ECSU email with instructions related to testing dates, times and the location.  Apex Solutions is located behind the Wellness Center adjacent to the Vaughn Center.  Non-compliance to testing may result in disciplinary actions and is considered a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.  Employee disciplinary actions will be managed by Human Resources.

Together, we can mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Mask Requirements

Masks will be required in all indoor facilities. Let’s take personal responsibility to help mitigate health and safety concerns. We will monitor the environment and make adjustments as necessary.

The health experts across our nation have reported a significant drop in COVID-19 hospitalizations.  This drop has come in large-part because of the number of people within our communities who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

As an institution and a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina System, we cannot require students to take the vaccine.  But, we are strongly encouraging each student to do so and to provide documentation of your vaccination to Student Health Services prior to your arrival on campus.  Your doing so, will ensure that your student experience is as close to normal as is possible in spite of the ongoing COVID-19 issue.

What does this mean?

Because we recognize the health benefits attached to taking the vaccine, if you submit your vaccination records to us, you will:

  • Be able to opt out of re-entry testing when you return to campus if you are fully vaccinated.  A person is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their last shot.
  • not have to participate in our surveillance testing program,
  • not be required to quarantine or isolate should you be identified as a result of contact tracing for having been exposed to the virus
