Bystander Intervention

Research shows that bystander intervention training is an effective method to educate individuals on sexual assault and substance abuse and can be an important component of preventative work (Banyard et al, 2007).

Bystander intervention training programs are offered at ECSU through the Women's Center and are usually collaborative efforts with Albemarle Hopeline. Past trainings have featured representatives from North Carolina's Coalition Against Sexual Violence and the Albemarle Hopeline.

For more information on bystander intervention training, or to schedule a training for a class, group, or organization, please contact the Women's Center (womenscenter@ecsu.edu or klgigler@ecsu.edu).
