Hurricane Force Winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the center and Tropical Storm Force winds extend outward up to 90 miles from the center. Along its current National Hurricane Center projected path Hurricane Arthur should pass just off the Outer Banks late tonight into early tomorrow. The Pasquotank-Camden area should be far enough away and on the wrong side of the storm for winds to reach hurricane speeds. Sustained winds will increase to 25-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph and possibly peaking to 45-50 mph. These winds will occur from 4am to 11am. Rainfall amounts of 1.5 - 2 inches will be possible with heaviest rain falling during the same time as the peak winds will be occurring. The chance of Pasquotank County receiving Hurricane force winds is less than 10% at this time. Please continue to monitor local media for any changes.
