Eric A. Weil grew up in Ohio but has lived in North Carolina since 1977. He holds MFA and PhD degrees from UNC-Greensboro, and he has taught at ECSU since January, 2007. Weil has presented or published papers on works by Chaucer, Hawthorne, Forster, and others, as well as on twentieth century African American poetry. A poet, Weil has published three short volumes of his work: "A Horse at the Hirshhorn" (2002), "Returning from Mars" (2009), and "Ten Years In" (2014). He has also had three one-act plays produced: "Enter/Exit," "Hamlet, Act VI," and "Heart to Heart." Teaching responsibilities include World Literature I & II, American Literature I & II, Advanced Grammar, History of the English Language, and others.
