Dr. Lisowski has been a member of the special education faculty at Elizabeth City State University since 2002. In addition, she serves as the Assessment Coordinator for the Teacher Education programs at ECSU. During her tenure here, she has also served as the Chair of the Department of Education and the Director of Teacher Education. Prior to coming to Elizabeth City, she coordinated the Special Education certification program at the University of Pittsburgh. She also has 15 years experience teaching preschool, elementary, and special education students in multicultural settings. Her research interests include the effective integration of technology into teaching, designing and implementing effective writing instruction for diverse learners, and prevention of reading failure.
