Dr. Deborah Riddick is an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Social Work Program Application Committee. She served for 19 years as the Director of Social Work Field Education. She has over 30 years of experience in the profession of Social Work.

Dr. Riddick is primarily responsible for teaching upper level (300 and above) professional social work courses and advising transfer students. She has also taught courses in the Sociology Program.

Dr. Riddick research interest include Gerontology,spirituality, end-of-life , end-of-life care with special attention on the rurual Elderly African American and the military experience.

She has conducted local workshops and presented at national conferences. On- Line publications include, "The Impact of Spirituality on End-of-Life Care for Rural Elderly African American,This Far by Faith: The Role of the Black Church in Ministering to Families Affected by Deployment and Black Pastors and Government Funding: Results of a Survey.

Professional organizations include the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), North American Assocition of Christians in Social Work (NACSW), Phi Alpha National Honor Society (Pi Psi Chapter).
