Thumb TackEffective July 1, 2009, the number of courses eligible for the Tuition Waiver program is reduced from three to two courses per academic year as defined by Senate Bill 202, The Appropriations Act of 2009 (Session Law 2009-451).

Thumb TackEffective July 24, 2009, the minimum wage will become $7.25 per hour. Employers in North Carolina are required to pay employees at $6.55 until July 24, 2009, when the new rate increases to $ 7.25. Hiring managers should plan accordingly the information on RFPA prior to submitting to the Budget Office for approval. Managers who already submitted forms with dates past the above referenced dates should amend accordingly or discuss the adjustments that will need to be made. Thumb TackChange in Submission of Time Sheets - It has become necessary to change the due dates of time sheets in order to continue our work in HR Banner Payroll; therefore, effective immediately, all time sheets and leave request forms are due in Human Resources by the end of the second business day beginning May 4. Other critical due dates are June 2, July 2, August 4, September 2, etc.

Thumb TackIn order to comply with a SACS mandate, EPA Non-Teaching employees were requested to submit an updated resume to Human Resources immediately. The final deadline is June 30 for all resumes to be received.

Thumb TackEffective with the 2009-10 evaluation period (May 1 - April 30, 2010), supervisors and all employees, with the exception of faculty, will be able to conduct annual assessments/evaluations using People Admin. Mandatory training sessions will begin in May to provide assistance.

Thumb TackThe Board of Trustees approved ECSU's Management Flexibility Plan to Appoint and Fix Compensation at its March meeting. The document is at UNC-GA awaiting approval.

Thumb TackSupplemental Pay Form for Services Rendered for EPA Employees is revised to reflect time and effort (T & E) percentage reporting.

Thumb TackChecks are no longer mailed from the Central Payroll Office to employees who are paid on the 15th and/or 22nd of the month. Checks are available at the Front Desk in Suite 243 of the Marion D. Thorpe Building. Please bring pictured identification - NC Drivers License or ECSU Identification Card.

Thumb TackEffective March 18, 2009, Chancellor Gilchrist imposed a hiring freeze on all positions until further notice. Hiring managers must submit a justification using the Request to Release a Position form, located on the web site under Forms and Documents. Final approval of all positions to be filled during the hiring freeze is provided by the Chancellor.

Thumb TackAs of May 1, 2008, all SPA positions were career banded and at that time, career banded position descriptions were required. An internal audit reflects that some positions have not been updated using the CB-102 form. Please submit the position descriptions by June 1, 2009. Form CB-102 is located on the website under Forms and Documents.
