Vikings Host Lincoln (PA) for Homecoming 2017

 The Elizabeth City State University football team is set to host Lincoln University (PA) for its 2017 Homecoming game Saturday, Oct. 14 in Roebuck Stadium. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.

The Vikings enters Saturday’s contest 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association after a tough 56-0 defeat to Virginia State University on last Saturday at home in Roebuck Stadium. ECSU has 1933 total yards on the season; while averaging 322.2 yards per game. Opposing teams record 2118 total yards and have averaged 353 total yards per game in the past six contests.

Senior quarterback Daquan Neal leads the Vikings in total rushing yards with 132; while passing for 1444 total yards (second in the league); including 10 scores (fourth in the league) on the season. Junior Deon Yarborough leads ECSU in receiving yards with 329; including a touchdown on the season; while averaging 54.8 yards per contest.

Defensively, senior linebacker Miacah Cooper leads the team with 43 total tackles and is ranked sixth in the league. As a team, ECSU is ranked fifth in the league in interceptions with B.J. Harrington leading the way with three on the season.

The Lions are coming into Saturday’s contest 0-6 on the season and sits in last place in the CIAA Northern Division. Lincoln averages 267.8 total yards per game; including 64.8 rushing yards, 203 passing yards, and 14.8 points per contest. They allow 456.8 yards per game; including 266 rushing yards per game, 190.8 passing yards per game, and 54.5 points per game.
