Freshman
Admissions
To be considered for admissions to Elizabeth City State
University new freshmen who graduated from high school
after June, 1990 must meet the Minimum Course Requirements
(MCRs) stipulated by the University of North Carolina.
The specific requirements are as follows:
- 4
units of English
-
4 units Mathematics (Algebra I, II, Geometry, and an advanced math)
- 3
units of Science (Biological, Physical, and Laboratory
Course)
- 2
units of Social Studies
- 2
units of Foreign Language
Complete
and submit the following to Office of Admissions:
- Application
- $30
non-refundable application fee
- Official
high school transcript (partial one at time of application;
final at the end of senior year or GED equivalency)
- An
official copy of your SAT or ACT scores these
may be included on your transcript or sent directly
to ECSU (School Code #2073).
Transfer
Admissions
Students who have been enrolled for credit at another
college or university are considered Transfer Students.
Transfer students will have their transcripts evaluated
in relation to the requirements of the specific academic
program for which they are applying. Courses to be transferred
must be equivalent to the respective courses in degree
programs at ECSU. Courses graded less than a "C" will
not be accepted for transfer credit. Transfer students
with less than 24 transferable hours must submit high
school information and meet (MCRs) to be considered
for admissions.
Complete
and submit the following to the Office of Admissions

transcripts from each college or university
Special & Transient Students
(Not applicable to freshman or transfer students)
Applicants who are mature and/or who may not meet admissions
requirements but who have a satisfactory record of experience
and education may be admitted to courses. Special students
are admitted for one term only (space permitting) and
must be readmitted at the beginning of each subsequent
term.
Applicants
who are regularly enrolled students at other institutions
provided the appropriate official at their institution
authorizes their attendance at Elizabeth City State
University, approves in advance the course work selected,
indicates the individual is in good standing at that
institution, and otherwise approves the transfer credits
taken at Elizabeth City State University. At the end
of one term of work transient students must transfer
to Elizabeth City State University or withdraw.
Readmission:
Reinstatement of former students
Students wishing to return to the University after
voluntary or involuntary absence must apply for readmission,
and complete one of the following processes:
Students with a break less than two (2) years with no
additional college course work, should:

to the Registrar's Office
- See
Academic Advisor for curriculum requirements
Students
with a break more than two (2) years and/or attended
another institution, should:
- Report
to the Admissions Office
- Complete
Application
- Pay
$30 application fee
- Evaluate
course work (If needed)
- See
