Hello and welcome to Elizabeth City State University (ECSU), the center of academic excellence in Northeastern North Carolina. For over 100 years, ECSU has provided quality education in this region of the state. Our aim is to provide a challenging and supportive environment that will prepare our students for responsible participation and leadership in a constantly changing world. We offer baccalaureate programs in the basic arts and sciences, and in selected professional and pre-professional areas. Through our Graduate Center, we also provide in conjunction with other constituent institutions, master's level programs for advanced professional study.

ECSU is situated in an intriguing location, combining history and romantic legends that date back to the early colonial days of America. Elizabeth City, recently cited as one of the best small towns in America, is located on the Pasquotank River and is an ideal place to study. The climate is mild and the campus is only 50 minutes from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
