Members of the ECSU Football team will be available to help freshmen females and their families move into the residence halls. Members of the Student Government Association and the Vikings Assisting New Students (VANS) will also help students move into the residence halls.
See "Time to Pack" a document published by the ECSU Office of Housing/Residence for details of items that are and are not allowed in residence halls. The document was distributed to freshmen during summer orientation sessions.
Textbook rentals
Students who have cleared student accounts may make university ID cards and pick up rental books on the first floor of Lester Hall on August 10. Freshmen and transfer students who have completed the fall registration process may pick up their rental books and make university identification cards from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on August 14 and August 17. See the following the schedule below to determine when students with last names in the categories below will be serviced:

Immunizations/Health Insurance
Immunization records along with the Medical History forms must be returned to Student Health Services by August 7 for fall enrollment.
Student Health Insurance Waivers
All full-time students are required to have health insurance. Full-time students can waive the health insurance fee within the first 10 (ten) days of the fall and spring semester by completing the waiver form online at www.studentinsurance.com. The deadline for waiving health insurance for the fall semester is August 31, 2009. Full-time students, those carrying 12 or more credit hours, who do not waive the health insurance fee will be automatically covered under a health insurance policy purchased by the university. Student parking
Students who plan to park a vehicle on campus must purchase a $50 parking decal and place the decal the right, rear window of the vehicle. The parking decal is useable throughout the academic year. Students must obtain and complete an application form from Campus Police. The forms will be available in the K. E. White Graduate and Continuing Education Center on August 17. Students must purchase the decals by 4 p.m. on September 1.
Library tours
Students and parents are welcome to schedule a tour of the G.R. Little Library. To schedule a tour with two of our librarians-- Mr. Dennis Brown at 335-3577, or Ms. Geiger, 335-3433.
Post Office
ECSU students who live on campus may apply for a post office box and key at the Ridley Complex on August 15 and 17.
Seniors must return the key to the post office in advance of their graduation date. There is a $5 fee for lost keys.
E-mail Accounts
All ECSU students are encouraged to acquire a university e-mail account and to check it regularly. The e-mail accounts are a primary channel of communication for university announcements and emergency notices. Please see the email announcement from Information Technology for instructions.
