Mission Statement

Degree Program Curriculum

To offer student-centered learning environment that prepares individuals for professional careers in the technical and management areas of industry, business, government, and education.  The curriculum has been designed to provide comprehensive understanding of wide range of technology and management topics with focus on hands-on experiences.

Industrial Technology Program Goals

Short Range Goals:

  1. Recruitment of students of high academic quality through aggressive and consistent outreach programs and opportunities to participate in faculty funded research.
  2. Retention of students through nurturing academic environment conducive to student-centered learning and creating student friendly atmosphere.
  3. Develop or use certification exams and/or major field tests (MFT) to meet immediate industry needs.
  4. Implement course outcomes-based assessment to validate competencies in each course offered in Industrial Technology program.
  5. Partner with industry to provide our students with the state-of-the art laboratory facilities and field trip experience.
  6. Integrate technology in courses to improve student engagement and interaction.

Long Range Goals:

  1. Assure that the Industrial Program at ECSU is relevant by maintaining program accreditation.
  2. Refinement of courses around learning objectives, course outcomes, and program outcomes for all courses offered in Industrial Technology program at ECSU.
  3. Offer a large number of courses that are web-enhanced, hybrid or online.

Industrial Technology Program Outcomes

O1: Industrial Technology students will communicate effectively in both individual and team situations using both oral and written communications.

O2:
Industrial Technology students will apply introductory knowledge of physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, and psychology principles to solve practical technology problems.

O3:
Industrial Technology students will use the computer proficiently as well as information technology to technical and management problems.

O4:
Industrial Technology program students will have knowledge of current industry practices, safety, basic technical skills that will facilitate advancement of the individual in the Technology professions.

O5:
Industrial Technology will have knowledge of contemporary business practices and will demonstrate the principles of management in the public and private sectors.

O6:
Industrial Technology students will apply advanced technical skills in contemporary industrial practices related to his or her specialization.
