SSCI 410: Fundamentals of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Astrobiology (3)
The course is designed to provide a rigorous introduction to the fundamentals of the physics of the universe. Topics include the physical properties of celestial objects. The student will study the similarities and differences between astrophysics and astronomy. Class sessions will be devoted to observations of nighttime skies, constellations, galaxies, planets, and deep space by using earth-based and space-based telescopes. Also, the origins, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe will be studied.
Prerequisite: SSCI 101.
