CHEM 301: Organic Chemistry I (3) (F;S;SS)
CHEM 301 is intended to serve as an introductory course to organic chemistry for students majoring in chemistry and other fields in which organic molecules and reactions have fundamental importance. The course covers nomenclature, preparation, physical and chemical properties and synthesis of organic compounds, particularly aliphatic and alicyclic hydrocarbons such as alkanes, alkenes, alkynes as well as alcohols and alkyl halidesLecture: three hours per week.
