EDUC 412: The Middle School: Methods, Materials and Observation (3) (F)
Integrated methods course designed to meet the developmental needs of youth in various subjects in the curriculum of middle schools. Objectives, principles, practices of instruction, classroom techniques and procedures are all covered; selection and use of instruments for evaluating achievement and measuring growth are covered. Study of traditional and new techniques and innovations, including unit planning, team teaching, non-graded arrangements, and appropriate computer applications. Directed laboratory experiences in public schools. Classroom observation required.
