The nature and the philosophy of the methodology of social sciences, the nature of causality in social sciences, theory-research connections, competing methods of social research, techniques of social surveys, and understanding and analyzing of GSS (General Social Survey) data, and research-policy connections.

Prerequisite: SOC 245.
