Clay Mercer, Emerging Media and Broadcast Specialist

Clay MercerWith previous dreams of being a professional basketball player who knew radio, Clay Mercer thought this would be the perfect occupation. Standing 6'5'', "The Bigga Figga" is an alum of Elizabeth City State University. As an undergraduate student athlete, Mercer had the opportunity to experiment with radio and television - working with formats such as jazz, gospel, hip-hop, R&B and sports broadcasting.

After receiving his degree, Mercer was offered the Production/Imaging Director position at the now-defunct WWHV-FM (HOT 102.1) in Virginia Beach, VA. While at WWHV, Mercer also served as producer of the nationally-syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show. Later, he took his talents to Washington, DC to work with WPGC-FM (95.5). During his tenure there, he worked with respected talents such as the legendary Donnie Simpson, Bigg Tigger, and more. Mercer?s production talents can be heard at numerous stations throughout the nation as he continues to produce through his company Cutz Creations.

Now, the hometown fella from Currituck County can be heard playing the "Feel Good Flava" of the 80's, 90's and New Jack Swing on Afternoon Delight! weekdays from 3-6 p.m. on WRVS-FM 89.9!
