Honors Program

The Honors Program Living Learning Community offers a vibrant and supportive environment where high-achieving students can live, learn, and grow together. Designed to foster both academic excellence and meaningful connections, this community provides engaging programming, leadership opportunities, and close interaction with Honors faculty and staff. Located in Bias Hall, honors scholars benefit from a collaborative atmosphere that encourages intellectual curiosity, personal development, and a strong sense of camaraderie, empowering students to thrive throughout their academic journey at ECSU.

We envision talented honors scholars building a tight-knit sense of community who both learn and socialize together along their educational journey at ECSU.

Goals

Eligibility

  • Be accepted into the University Honors Program
  • Registered for/enrolled in Honors courses
  • Planning to reside on campus (Bias Hall)
  • Complete the Housing Application and Sign the Housing Agreement
  • Open to all genders

Expectations

  • Consistently participate in University Honors Program-sponsored activities, workshops, and events
  • Challenge yourself to achieve new goals
  • Make intentional efforts to monitor and support your academic success
  • Dress and conduct yourself in an appropriate and professional manner
  • Listen and keep an open mind in order to benefit from experience, insight, and advice
  • Take initiative in cultivating positive relationships amongst a network of professionals and peers
  • Accept leadership responsibilities that may arise
  • Encourage, uplift, and support your peers
  • Uphold the Student Code of Conduct 
  • Be willing to serve and volunteer across the ECSU campus and within the Elizabeth City community
