Under the new leadership of Chancellor S. Keith Hargrove and guided by ECSU’s bold Strategic Plan 2025–2030, Elizabeth City State University is charting a transformative path focused on student success, innovation, and impact. As federal funding for higher education and HBCUs continues to decline, philanthropic support has never been more critical to sustaining access, affordability, and opportunity for deserving students. Strengthening scholarship funds, both need-based and merit, will empower ECSU to recruit, retain, and graduate more students prepared to lead and serve.
