As the only four-year institution of higher education in northeastern North Carolina, ECSU has served as an arts and culture resource that has enriched life on campus and in the region. Numerous artists and performers expose students and residents in surrounding communities to the performing arts, visual arts and literary arts. Students, faculty and staff perform and showcase their works of art in the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center on campus. Often, professional performers and artists from around the world perform with our students and faculty, and they provide master classes to enhance classroom instruction.
Many performances are open to the public, and we invite you to experience the power of the arts as ECSU continues to provide cultural leadership in northeastern North Carolina.
