The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering Technology is in the School of Science, Aviation, Health and Technology at Elizabeth City State University. The Department offers undergraduate programs leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering Technology. The Department also offers a M.S. in Mathematics with concentrations in Mathematics Education, Applied Mathematics, Community College Teaching, and Remote Sensing.

 

Students majoring in other disciplines can minor in either mathematics, computer science or engineering technology concentrations. Our strong curriculum, which emphasizes both theory and applications, and the personal relationships with faculty give our students a high level of preparation for research, graduate study, as well as for professional employment. The Departmental faculty members are well qualified, have diverse research interests, and are dedicated to the success of students. It is recommended that prospective students contact the department as early as possible to discuss an appropriate program of study and to plan the sequencing of course requirements.

We cultivate and prepare our students for productive careers as mathematicians, computer scientists, and engineering technologists who are highly skilled, competent, and well prepared to enter professional careers in the public and private sector and to pursue degrees beyond the baccalaureate level in professional or graduate school.
