Pre-Award / Proposal Development
The Office of Sponsored Programs, Contracts & Grants (SPCG) Pre-Award staff assists the faculty, administration and staff at Elizabeth City State University through the grant seeking process of sponsored programs and research. A sponsored program refers to external sources of funding including Federal agencies, State agencies, and foundations. The Pre-Award office is the central coordination point for all proposals involving restricted grants for programmatic and research initiatives.
The services that are available in pre-award are:
- Information dissemination of potential grant opportunities;
- Research funding opportunities based on ECSU Mission and priorities;
- Review draft proposals and budgets for compliance with appropriate regulations and policies;
- Give general advice on strategies to maximize the effectiveness of the application;
- Assistance with obtaining ECSU background information;
- Consultation in the area of proposal development;
- Conduct workshops, trainings and other specialized programs in research;
- Preparing for meetings with funding agencies/organizations;
- Packaging proposals for submission to funding agencies by required deadlines;
- Assisting with correspondence to and from funding agency;
