Assessment and Accreditation

 

Welcome to the Office of Assessment and Accreditation at Elizabeth City State University. The mission of the Office of Assessment and Accreditation is to design, coordinate and implement university-wide assessment, accreditation and planning activities.

The university's assessment and planning cycle is designed to have campus units work as a team to assess academic programs, academic support programs and administrative units to give essential information to stakeholders on how the institution is meeting its goals and objectives.

The Office of Assessment and Accreditation is responsible for helping the university maintain compliance with principles, requirements, standards, and policies set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The Office serves as the home to the university's accreditation liaison, which is the institution's primary point of contact for our regional accrediting body SACSCOC. The liaison is responsible for ensuring that the institution remains in compliance with accreditation standards, as well as making sure that changes implemented at the university are reported to the accrediting body in a timely fashion. The Office is committed to providing the campus community with leadership and guidance to uphold the university's cores values of Integrity and Accountability through goal setting and assessing progress towards accomplishing the goals and objectives in the university strategic plan. 

The Office of Assessment and Accreditation strives to enhance the overall effectiveness of the university by ensuring that faculty, staff, and administrators are making data-driven decisions which fosters into overall student success and continuous improvement.
