Young Alumni Academy

About

The six-segment course is designed to prepare participants to serve as alumni leaders and volunteers. Each young alumnus(a) will have the opportunity to engage with fellow young alumni and administrators through a six-part curriculum focused on learning the ins and outs of ECSU. The curriculum will be devoted to enhancing the connections between young alumni and the University. Participants will develop into confident and capable leaders, feeling inspired to increase their own participation and motivate others to give back to the University through volunteerism and active engagement.

When

Sessions will be held the fourth Tuesday of the month, unless otherwise noted, beginning October 2022 and ending April 2023.

Each session takes place 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM ET as follows:

October–  Orientation and A Conversation with Chancellor Karrie G. Dixon

November– In the Life of an ECSU Student- Provost and Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs

January–  ECSU Governance – Exploring the Board of Trustees, ECSU Foundation Board and Board of Visitors

February–  The Color of Money – Vice Chancellor of Business and Finance

March– University Advancement- Becoming A Leader: Recruitment, Giving and Engagement

April–  Athletics – What It Really Takes to Win

How to Apply

Registration for the 2023-24 Young Alumni Academy cohort will be announced.

Alumni can register for the 2022-2023 academy beginning August 16, 2022. Registration will close on September 9, 2022. The academy is currently only open to members of the ECSU 40 Under 40 Society.
