Need financial assistance to fund your student’s college education? Help your student(s) complete the FAFSA now. It opens on October 1.  Be sure to include ECSU school code # 002926. Students and parents must request a Federal Student Aid ID to electronically sign the FAFSA. A Renewal FAFSA must be completed each academic year. Visit the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships website for details regarding FAFSA, financial aid and scholarships.

Verification is a process mandated by the U.S. Department of Education requiring schools to verify self-reported data provided on the FAFSA to ensure its accuracy. The first question with Verification is “Have I been selected?” Not everyone has to turn these documents into the Financial Aid Office. If have been selected then you will receive an email about outstanding requirements and you will have the verification requirements posted to your SSB account. Visit the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships website for details regarding Verification.

Financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to students who complete their application by March 1st  of each year. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships provides important dates and deadlines to help students stay on track. Here are some of the important dates and deadlines throughout the year that pertain to financial aid:
• FAFSA is available: October 1
• Priority FAFSA completion: March 1
• Priority verification processing: June 1

Students who are taking 6 or more on-campus credit hours (in the classroom) must provide proof of health insurance coverage in order to avoid having a BCBS Student Blue health insurance premium charged to their student account.

Students who do not provide verifiable health insurance information before the waiver deadline will be enrolled automatically in the UNC endorsed student health insurance plan and will be billed for the semester. The BCBS Student Blue health insurance policy is part of a UNC system-wide plan, negotiated each year through the insurance agent for the state of North Carolina.
If the waiver deadline is missed, you will be charged for the Fall Student insurance premium.
Who is required to enroll in the UNC System student health insurance plan?

Are you enrolled in a minimum of 6 on-campus credit hours?

  • Are you required to pay the campus student health fee?

If you answered yes, do you have other health insurance coverage?

Visit the Student Health Services website for additional information regarding medical care at Student Health Services.
