Viking CARES stands for "Campus Advocates for Recovery and Educational Services"
The Elizabeth City State University’s Collegiate Recovery Community Program (CRC)
Viking CARES was founded in 2020 and is a sub-unit of Student Counseling Services in the Division
of Student Affairs.
ECSU’s Viking CARES is in its early stages and intends to provide psychoeducational groups, workshops,
and trainings as early as January, 2021.
Viking CARES is a dedicated space for students to assist them in their quest of recovery from all stages of addiction. VIKING CARES offers a safe space for students seeking recovery to participate in programming
and services specific to their needs and to interact with those who share their experience.
Most importantly, we are here to assist, guide, encourage and engage students with
their recovery within the community.
VIKING CARES is here to assist!
No one should suffer the confusion of addiction alone. While our program is small
and in its early stages, we would be honored if you would join our Collegiate Recovery
Community Program (CRC) Task Force. Due to COVID-19 and the safety of all, we will
be meeting monthly via ZOOM until further notice.
