All residence halls will close for Spring Break 2023. All students must vacate the halls. The halls will close on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at noon and reopen on Sunday, March 19, 2021, at 9:00 am. Please make all travel arrangements, immediately.
If you need transportation services to and or from the Norfolk Airport, Norfolk Train Station, or Elizabeth City Bus Station, please complete the transportation request form on or before March 1, 2023. Transportation Services (
Before leaving for Spring Break:

  • Sign out of your residence hall via the link that will be sent out the week prior to Spring Break
  • DO NOT leave items on your floor that are subject to damage by events such as flooding, etc.
  • Clean your room, bathroom, and common areas (living rooms, hallways, kitchens)
  • Clean out refrigerators (common area and personal) and discard all items that may expire over the break or are no longer needed
  • Dispose of all trash in common and personal areas
  • Turn off all lights, televisions, and gaming systems (unplug irons, curling irons, etc.)
  • Take your valuables with you
  • Take home items you no longer need (this will make your move-out in May easier)
  • Lock your windows and doors

All bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas will be inspected while you are away for the purpose of submitting work orders and to determine summer repairs. Charges will be added to your student account for failing to leave your room in the proper condition.

Individuals who believe they have experienced or witnessed crimes, University policy violations, acts of sexual misconduct, or other questionable incidents related to student behavior are encouraged to report these incidents to appropriate University resources. If you have questions about how or whether to report, a representative of the Office of the Dean of Students is available to meet with you.
